Independence Day Celebration in Downtown Ellijay

FireworksStart celebrating your independence a day early on Saturday, July 3, 2010 on the square in downtown Ellijay. The festivities begin at 6 PM with the Independence Day Parade. The evening continues with live music and other activities and ends with a great fireworks display at dark.

Picnic by the River

Cook OutJoin in the fun on Friday evening, June 18, 2010 at the ETC Pavilion on Legion Road in Ellijay for a picnic by the river. Bring your own basket of food and sit back for an evening of fun and music. Blue Ridge’s own Toccoa River Band will be playing a variety of music from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. The gates open at 6 PM and the fun begins at 7 PM. The band will be playing until 9:30 PM.

The Picnic by the River is sponsored by Gilmer Arts and Heritage. Tables are $60 for members, $70 for non-members. Bring a lawn chair price is $8 for members, $10 for non-members. For more information and details, contact Gilmer Arts and Heritage 706-635-5605.

Children reading a book.A great way for children grades Kindergarten through 12th grade to get a free ticket to an Atlanta Hawks and an Atlanta Thrashers 2010-2011 game! All they have to do to earn these great rewards is to read at least 5 books between June 2 and August 20, 2010 and they will receive a Check it Out Reading Challenge bookmark (while supplies last), a free youth ticket to a 2010-2011 regular season Atlanta Hawks game and a free youth ticket to a 2010-2011 regular season Atlanta Thrashers game.
