Pumpkins and Scarecrow in the Fall.Don’t miss the grand opening of Huckleberry Holler in Ellijay, Georgia on October 1 and 2, 2011. Bring the whole family out for an enjoyable time getting lost in the corn maze, sliding down the giant slide, racing pedal cars and more. Visit Huck’s General Store for some tasty treats and souvenirs. You can even pick out your favorite pumpkin to carve for the season. Hang around after the sun goes down for some eerie activities in the corn maze after dark. Last but not least, roast some marshmallows around the campfire to make some s’mores, Yum!

There are different admissions for different activities. The gate fee of $3 will be waived for the grand opening weekend.

$10 general admission includes: Corn Maze, Hay Mountain, Slinger Swing, Corn Bouncer, Tube Swing , Shipwreck Island, and Campfires.
$16 admission includes all of general admission plus the Haunted Corn Maze.
$20 Adventure Pass includes all of the above PLUS the Cow Train, Raptor Slide, Jumping Pillow, Corn Cannon, Apple Sling Shot, H20 Balls and Hay Ride.

Huckleberry Holler’s hours are Thursday and Friday 5 PM to 10 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday 1 PM to 8 PM. The fall season will be open Thursdays through Sundays through November 6, 2011. Ellijay Under the Stars – September

The Ellijay Under the Stars concert series will be happening at a new place, Boogie Rivers Park in Ellijay, Georgia, on September 23, 2011. The featured band of the evening being brought to you by Kharisma Entertainment is the Pioneer Chick’n Stand Band. Gates open at 6 PM and the concert starts at 7 PM. Pack a picnic, bring a lawn chair or blanket and pick a spot to enjoy some contemporary folk rock music. If you prefer a table, you can reserve one for 8 people for $60.

Apple Pickin’ Jubilee

ApplesApple Pickin’ fun at the Apple Pickin’ Jubilee at Hillcrest Orchards in Ellijay, Georgia starting September 10, 2011. Every weekend in September and October will be filled with lots of fun at Hillcrest Orchards. Bring the kids out to pick their own apples, jump on the giant jumping pillow, milk a cow, see a live honey bee demonstration, cheer for your favorite pig in the pig race, and much, much more!

Stop in the market to get some fresh apples, cider, fried apple pies, homemade ice cream, or fresh honey. They have so many delightful things to choose from!

Fun at B.J. Reece Apple House

ApplesIt’s apple season in Ellijay, Georgia and it’s time to visit the apple houses for some fresh apples and fun! B.J. Reece Apple House is one of the places to do this. Not only can you pick your own apples but you can try shooting an apple with the apple cannon, visit the petting farm, get a fried apple pie or other delicious offering from their bakery and enjoy the beautiful North Georgia mountains.

U-Pick apples begins on September 3, 2011 and runs through October. It’s easy, all you do is puchase the size bag of apples you want and go out to the orchard and pick them. U-Pick at the Red Apple Barn

Apple TreePick your own apples at the Red Apple Barn in Ellijay, Georgia in the months of September and October, 2011. Take a wagon ride to the orchard, get a tour of the orchard and pick some apples. For just $5 you get the wagon ride, the tour of the orchard, one cup of apple cider, and 1 apple. Prices for additional apples vary according to the amount you choose.

ApplesTake a wagon tour of R & A Orchards in Ellijay, Georgia in the month of September, 2011. While there, have fun picking your own apples. There will be many different kinds of apples to choose from. If you would rather purchase apples already picked, visit their roadside market. Not only can you get fresh apples but you can pick up some tasty apple butter, jams, jellies and cider.
