Join in the Star Spangled Beach Party at the annual 4th of July celebration in downtown Ellijay, Georgia on July 4, 2015. The whole day will be a party starting at 11 AM with local vendors lined up along River Street. Enjoy the beach with beach games and more. Live music will begin at 4 PM with Downtown Roy.
The annual parade will start from Sailors Drive at 6 PM, go around the square and end at Ellijay Elementary on McCutcheon Street. The military, veterans, and military families will be highlighted this year and to show appreciation for their service, they are asked to participate as Grand Marshalls for the parade. Any military, veteran, or family member who would like to march in the parade are invited to bring a photo to carry in the parade. Staging for the parade will begin at 4 PM on Sailors Drive. Grand Marshall participants are to meet in front of the Pepsi building. Judging for the floats will take place from 5 PM to 5:45 PM.
Festivities will continue after the parade with fireworks beginning at dusk. Admission is free so come on down to downtown Ellijay and have a good time!

Visiting North Georgia in the Spring is a real treat. All of the apple trees, dogwoods, and flowers are in bloom and not only that, you can stop by the Georgia Apple Blossom Festival and Business Expo taking place in East Ellijay, GA on May 2 – 3, 2015 from 9 AM to 5 PM. The festival has over 50 regional arts and crafts, food, and business vendors for you to enjoy. It is a pet friendly event and is located on Craig St. adjacent from the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce.

Come on out to Ellijay, Georgia on the 4th of July, 2014 for the Star Spangled Beach Party on the square in downtown Ellijay. The festivities begin with a parade at 6 PM. Following the parade will be music in the city parking lot and fireworks at dark.

Summertime in Ellijay, Georgia means the Gilmer County Fair is coming soon. The 2014 fair will be here at the Ellijay Lions Club from August 5 – 9. There are 3 different divisions for exhibits – Elementary, Youth, and Adult with categories in Agriculture, Crafts, Food, Canning, Baking, Sewing, Needlework, Art, Photography,Flowers and Quilting and 10 different categories for the Elementary division. There will be entertainment nightly by local bands at the Pavilion.
The fair will be open 6 PM to 11 PM on Tuesday through Thursday and 6 PM to 12 PM on Friday and Saturday. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students, and children under 6 are Free. You can purchase an armband for $20 that is good for all of the rides. Bring in an old pair of glasses, a cell phone or hearing aid and get $1 off admission (limit 1 per person).

Visit Ellijay, Georgia on the weekend of May 3-4, 2014 for the Georgia Apple Blossom Festival. The festival will celebrate the arts, crafts, and foods of the North Georgia region. It will take place on Craig Street, adjacent to the Gilmer Chamber office in East Ellijay from 9 AM to 5 PM both Saturday and Sunday. It will be an outdoor, pet friendly event and admission is free.

There will be partying in the streets of downtown Ellijay, Georgia on Saturday, July 6, 2013. The festivities were originally scheduled for Thursday, July 4 but have been postponed to Saturday, July 6. Come on down to see the “Star Spangled Beach Party” parade that will start at 6 PM. Music and fun will begin afterwards. There will be live music, food and other vendors, and fireworks at dark.
